PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a header for heat exchanger that has a high pressure resistance and that the number of parts and cost can be reduced. SOLUTION: This header for heat exchanger has a base wall 20 through which a tube inserting hole 23 is formed, a counter wall 30 which is arranged to face the wall 20, and both side walls 40a and 40b arranged between both side edge sections of the walls 20 and 30. The header also has reinforcing walls 50a and 50b arranged between the intermediate sections of the walls 20 and 30. The side walls 40a and 40b are integrally formed with both side edge sections of the base wall 20 by bending. One half part 30a of the counter wall 30 is integrally formed with the edge section of the one side wall 40a by bending and the other half part 30b of the counter wall 30 is integrally formed with the edge section of the other side wall 40b by bending. In addition, the reinforcing walls 50a and 50b are integrally formed with the edge sections of both half parts 30a and 30b of the counter wall 30 by bending.
