PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin, small and low-cost disk unit having both of an auto-loading function and an auto-chucking function. SOLUTION: The optical disk drive has a spindle motor 102 using a three- phase coil and a four-pole magnet, and a spindle motor driver 109 having a fixed angle driving signal generator for driving two predetermined phases of the three-phase coil and a switching device to switch a normal rotation with normal fixed angle drive. When an optical disk 101 is loaded on the spindle motor 102, the spindle motor driver 109 is driven by switching to the fixed angle driving signal generator. |
