PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent water from flying out toward a user even in the case of accidental opening of a main valve at the replacement of a cartridge in a faucet wherein the cartridge for purifying running water is built into a water discharge head capable of being pulled out with a flexible hose. SOLUTION: In the faucet 10 wherein the cartridge 42 for purifying the running water is built detachably into an outer shell body, an upstream part of the cartridge 42 is provided with an emergency shut-off valve 51 which maintains a valve opening state in a state of mounting of the cartridge 42 and which is opened to automatically shut off a passage when the cartridge 42 deviates from a mounting position.
