Furnace, esp for incinerating waste, has horizontal section with parallel rows of heat exchangers for vaporisation and economiser functions

The furnace has a horizontal section (2) situated after its vertical firebox section (1) containing heat exchangers fulfilling two different functions: vaporisation/overheating and economiser. The vaporisation/overheating heat exchangers are located in two parallel side rows (3, 4) in the horizontal section, separated by tube screens (6, 7) from a central row of economiser heat exchangers (5) that receive the fumes from combustion after the vaporisation/overheating heat exchangers. The heat exchangers are cleaned by striking collectors at their ends with a hammer.
