PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rapid joint which is especially sturdy due to resistance against catching fire even if the joint is subjected to any condition of action, while guaranteeing secure connection between the two pipes connected by the rapid joint. SOLUTION: The rapid joint is constituted of an upstream element 2, especially a female element, formed of a means connecting to the upstream compressed gas inlet pipe, and a downstream element 38, especially a male element, suitable for attachment in the mutually axial direction and inducing opening of the valve installed in the body of the upstream element 2. The valve actuates between the opened position where the upstream element is connected to the downstream element and the closed position where the upstream element is separated from the downstream element. The upstream element is provided with at least one O-ring 18 made of elastomer or plastic material put in order in the vicinity of the valve. Two pipes in which oxigen gas flows are detachably connected by the rapid joint. |
