PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect atmospheric pressure by high resolution while sufficiently covering a detection width corresponding to a use environment of a vehicle, in this atmospheric pressure detector for detecting the atmospheric pressure accurately in a condition mounted in the vehicle. SOLUTION: A required detection range (400 to 800 mmHgabs) corresponding to a use environment of a vehicle is covered with first/second atmospheric pressure sensors of different detection range. Of these two sensors, the sensor with an output not attached to both upper/lower limit ranges of the detection range is made an effective sensor for detection, and detects the atmospheric pressure based on an output of this effective sensor. In an overlapping region of the detection range, the atmospheric pressure is detected based on an output of the sensor with a larger degree of margin (Δpa1 orΔpa2).
