PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, related to a conventional CPP type magnetic detection element, a regenerative output is not properly improved while regenerative waveform is not stabilized properly, when the size of element becomes smaller. SOLUTION: A specular film 31 is formed on both side ends of a multilayered film 30. A hard bias layer 29 is formed on the surface of a free magnetic layer 26, which is located opposite to a surface, where a non-magnetic material layer 25 is formed. Thus, a magnetic detection element of high regenerative output and sensitivity and superior in stability of a regenerative waveform is manufactured.
