The glove (1), designed to be worn on either hand, consists of a main chain mail section (2) covering the hand and wrist with an optional extension for the arm or forearm, and has an adjustable fastening strap (5) passing through a sheath (6) or loops at the wrist. It has at least one first fastener (11, 12) on the outer surface of the glove to engage with a matching fastener (10) on one end of the strap, and at least two second fasteners (17, 18) located symmetrically or asymmetrically on the glove's outer surface to engage with a matching fastener (15) on an adjustable buckle (14) on the other end of the strap. The fasteners are e.g. in the form of press-studs.
