The binder spine (5) for permanent retention of several sheets, such as documents or reports, permits turning of individual sheets through 360 degrees and comprises a ridge spine (11), on which are parallel, adjacent ridge-shaped lobes (7), so formed to engage in rows of apertures (9) along one of the edges of the sheets to be bound. The lobes are fixed to or are formed on an even ridge spine. They are arranged with equal spacing and all have the same width (b). The ends of the lobes are selectively angular, round, pointed or trapezoidal. They have a glued surface and the ridge spine is of paper or cardboard.
