PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an closed lead acid storage battery in which the voltage detection monitor terminal of each cell can be easily installed without changing the outer diameter dimensions. SOLUTION: This is an closed lead acid storage battery in which the intermediate electrode poles 9, 9 of adjoining cells are connected in series by a connecting part 10 and a monitor terminal 4 for detecting the voltage of each cell is installed from the intermediate electrode pole 9 or connecting part 10 toward the battery case 2 surface. The upper part of the monitor terminal 4 does not protrude from the battery case 2 surface. And the monitor terminal 4 has a head part 14 having flat top side and a mount part 15 of screw type, and the top end of the mount part 15 is cut into the above connecting part 10.
