PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve heat resistant strength of a glass panel and a glass bulb by preventing generation of damage such as triangular cracking at a glass panel for a cathode-ray tube having a flattened face part. SOLUTION: With the panel for the cathode-ray tube provided with a face part with curvature radius on the outer surface on the diagonal axis X not less than 10,000 mm, a thick part 20 is formed in the region including at least a sealing end face 5 or the vicinity at a diagonal part 7 of a skirt part 6 and in the direction parallel to the tube axis Z. The thick part 20 is preferably formed at thermal stress centering region at thermal treatment.
