PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture with accuracy a thin-plate part forming beam- transmission holes for an electron gun electrode, in manufacturing an electron gun for a high-definition cathode-ray tube. SOLUTION: With the manufacturing method of the electron gun involving a process of molding a part of a metal plate to be an electrode material in a thin shape, after a part of a metal plate 2 is made overhung toward the plate thickness direction, the overhung part 3 is cut so that an angle made by the cut face 3A of the overhung part and a rotating shaft 5 of a rotating cutter blade 4 be other than 90 deg. to form a thin-plate part 6 on the metal plate.
