PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature measurement device capable of accurately measuring the temperature of molten metal of a high melting point activated metal. SOLUTION: A metallic protection tube 34 is arranged on the outside of ceramic tubes 30 and 32 protecting a thermocouple 26, and the thermocouple 26 is inserted into the motel metal as a measurement object for measuring its temperature. In this temperature measurement, while the metallic protection tube 34 is melted and consumed, the ceramic tubes 30 and 32 are gradually heated, so that they are prevented from breakage due to a heat shock.
