METHOD FOR RECOVERING AMINE CATALYST

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently recovering an amine catalyst used in the production of a polycarbonate resin or a carbonate oligomer. SOLUTION: The polycarbonate resin or the carbonate oligomer is produced by interfacial polymerization by using an amine catalyst. The amine catalyst is recovered from an organic solvent solution after completion of the polymerization. The method for recovering the amine catalyst is performed a by acid extraction (1) of an aqueous acidic solution, (2) by adjusting the pH of the aqueous solution of the extract to 7.5-14 by adding an alkali to the solution and (3) by recovering an organic solvent solution of the amine catalyst from the aqueous solution of pH 7.5-14 by simple or steam distillation. The method for producing a polycarbonate resin or a carbonate oligomer by using this recovered catalyst is provided.
