PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a light source using a blue color LED and emitting white light, at which, an uniform white light can be observed. SOLUTION: A blue light emitting diode made of gallium nitride compound semiconductor is connected to the end surface of a transparent light guide plate as a light source. Either one main surface of the light guide plate has a fluorescent light dispersion layer on which, a mixture of fluorescent material, emitting fluorescent light according to the excitation caused by the light emitted from the blue light emitting diode, and white powder dispersing the fluorescent light are painted. The wavelength of the light emitted from the blue light emitting diode is converted at the fluorescent light dispersion layer, and the light is observed at the other main surface of the light guide plate opposite to the fluorescent light dispersion layer. |
