PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key handle insertion/extraction type locking device which can surely prevent the occurrence of situations, in which a locking shaft is kept in an unlocked state and in which a key handle cannot be inserted into a fixed body, by reversely utilizing back tension acting on the locking shaft. SOLUTION: When the locking shaft 5 is excessively turned from a normal locking position at an angle corresponding to loose play between the fixed body 1 and the locking shaft 5, an opening width of a groove 11 for identifying a location of the insertion/extraction of the fixed body 1 is set to be greater than a width of a protrusion 14 for pulling of the key handle 13 so that the protrusion 14 can be extracted from the groove 11, and a play space 32 corresponding to the loose play is set between a locking groove 10 of the locking shaft 5 and a locking pin.
