PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake air amount controller for an internal combustion engine having excellent durability and reliability and high performance. SOLUTION: This intake air amount controller for the internal combustion engine is provided with a throttle body 1 forming an intake passage 2 communicating with a pipeline of an intake pipe of the internal combustion engine and a platelike throttle valve 4 supported turnably on the throttle body 1 through throttle shaft 3 to control an amount of intake air supplied to the internal combustion engine by turning the throttle valve 4. A straightening means 20 suppressing the fluctuation of torque acting on the throttle valve 4 by fluid force generated by intake air is provided in the upstream or the downstream of the throttle valve 4.
