PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque sensor capable of measuring a torque value of a high torque in continuous rotation, with excellent durability, and a connection method for that. SOLUTION: This torque sensor 20 characterized in that it is provided with a rotation shaft 10 rotated in the circumferential direction by a rotation drive source, and connected to the rotation drive source on one end side, and to a follower mechanism on the other end side, a torque detecting part 30 provided on the rotation shaft 10, and a flange part 11 provided at an end part on the rotation drive source side of the rotation shaft 10, and also a connection method for that is provided, and an engine-drive type air conditioner characterized in that in which the rotation drive source side of the rotation shaft 10 of the torque sensor 20 is connected through the flange part 11 to a drive output shaft 6 of a crank shaft 1b of an engine 1 is provided.
