PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the arrangement space of an adjusting rod for adjusting a tension pulley and a tensional force as much as possible when installing the belt tension device in a belt transmission device in which a belt is hung up between pulleys. SOLUTION: A tension pulley 22 is arranged inside so as to give a tension from the inside to the outside of the tense section 14a of one side of the belt 14 and an adjusting rod 23 for adjusting the tensional force of the tension pulley 22 is projectingly diaposed beyond the tense section 14b of the other side of the belt. In this way, the arrangement space of the adjusting rod 23 is positioned to overlap with the arrangement space of the belt transmission device.
