PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve carrier transfer capability and carrier implantation by applying doping without generating an ion current in a liquid crystal compound having high carrier mobility in an organic electroluminescence element. SOLUTION: In this organic electroluminescence element, a carrier transfer layer is formed by doping a Lewis acid compound to a smectic liquid crystal compound having a hexagonal system order degree, and a protective layer having the carrier transfer capability of the same kind as the carrier transfer layer, and composed of an organic compound different in carrier conductivity is formed between the carrier transfer layer and a light emitting layer. |
