PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grey level correction device that attains grey level correc tion using digital feedback processing and further attains high accuracy control. SOLUTION: The gradation correction device is provided with a circuit 103 for generating the adjusting amount of correction gain and a circuit 104 for generating the correction gain. The circuit 103 obtains the adjusting amount of correction gain with a nonlinear relation to a difference S between a reference luminance level Yb1 and a maximum luminance level so as to apply greater gamma correction to a greater difference.
