PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stencil or a cutout die to display characters, pictures or the like on rugged surfaces or curved surfaces. SOLUTION: (A) The stencil is obtained by applying a pressure sensitive adhesive material (3) on the back face of a substrate (1) made of sponge, rubber, urethane or the like which can be elastically deformed along a rugged surface or a curved surface and then removing a cutout part (2) of characters, pictures or the like from the substrate (1). The obtained stencil is subjected to corrosion preventive treatment. (B) The cutout die of characters, pictures or the like is obtained by applying a pressure sensitive adhesive material (3) on the back face of a substrate (1) made of sponge, rubber, urethane or the like which can be elastically deformed along a rugged surface or a curved surface and cutting out figures, pictures or the like from the substrate (1). The obtained die is subjected to corrosion proof treatment.
