PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the connection shape having no void in the connecting section of an existing tunnel and a caisson shaft and a method in which a grouting is not required or is minimized. SOLUTION: A cutting edge 5a for a caisson 1 connected to the existing tunnel 2 is brought into contact with or brought near sufficiently to the existing tunnel 2 by forming the same curved surface as or approximating to a connecting surface, an elastic seal material 9, on which a magnet is stuck, is attached magnetically around a cutting-edge metallic material 5b, and the grouting is not required or can be minimized by placing bottom-section concrete 8 by simple forms 7 as a communication section communicated with a communication port 6 with the existing tunnel 2 after the removal of the forms.
