PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic vending machine flexibly and effectively illuminating a part desired to be illuminated like the emphatic illumination of an optional merchandise sample and a poster panel or the like, contributing to the energy saving and thinning of the automatic vending machine and facilitating the maintenance of an illumination means. SOLUTION: The automatic vending machine is provided with: a display space 2 provided on the front surface of an outer door 1, displaying merchandise samples 3 and further displaying the poster panel 4 indicating the information or advertisement of merchandise; an illuminated plate 5 formed so that the merchandise sample 3 and the poster panel 4 are visually recognized and a surface light emitting device 6 arranged on the back side of the display space 2 and illuminating the merchandise sample 3 and the poster panel 4 from behind by the surface light emission of a light emitting diode 6a as a light source.
