PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously improve the tone reproduction of a photographic print and the producing efficiency of the print. SOLUTION: As for a print processor, a photographic printing paper is exposed by light emitted from a light source through a liquid crystal panel. The exposure amount for the photographic printing paper is defined by an exposure time and the transmissivity of the liquid crystal. At first, in a binary driving period, the binary drive is performed with binary transmissivity of 100% and 0%. In the following initialization period, the voltage of the transmissivity of 0% is applied on the liquid crystal so as to initialize the state of the liquid crystal. Besides, in the intermediate driving period, an intermediate voltage is applied on the liquid crystal.
