Two or more adjacent cupboards are arranged side by side in the unit for storing similar or different items, e.g. clothes. Two cupboards (3,4) lie behind one another in at least one cupboard section (2). The cupboard (4) in the front side of the unit can be swung about vertical axes (5,7) to allow it to be swung out in front of the unit and allow access to the rear cupboard (3) behind it. The front cupboard is fastened to a support arm (6) which is rotated about a vertical axis (5), allowing the cupboard to be swung about a vertical axis (7) relative to the support arm.
