PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the series gap length of a lightning arrester measurable accurately, easily and safely mounted on an insulator device. SOLUTION: This gage has a measuring part and a gripping part, for measuring the series gap length of the lightning arrester mounted on the insulator device. It is characterized in that the measuring part has, on one end side, a step-shaped locking part for latching thereon the tip part of one arcing horn of the lightning arrester, and, on the other end side, a step part for interfitting therein the tip part of the other arcing horn of the lightning arrester, formed to have the length determined from the upper and lower limits of a tolerance of the prescribed series gap length. The gripping part having the tip fixed on the measuring part is characterized by having enough length for an operator to bring the measuring part into contact with the series gap from an arm of a transmission line steel tower without stepping on the insulator device. |
