ANODE FOR ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anode for electrolytic capacitors which has a reduced leakage current and lessened short-circuit failures. SOLUTION: A valve metal-made lead wire 2 is buried in a portion of a rectangular plate-like molding 1 of a valve metal powder. No anode lead is buried in the portion of the molding. This portion is processed so that the wire more oscillates in the horizontal direction than in the direction vertical to the length of a surface of the molding. At least a part of the portion having no anode lead buried is formed into a flat, elliptic or foil-like shape. This makes any vibration or stress exerted in the lengthwise direction, hence the break or crack of the lead-planted portion breaks is a few, and electrolytic capacitor element thus obtained has a leak current reduced and a dielectric layer not damaged by a large ripple current to provide high reliability.
