PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device in which the advancing path of a recording sheet to a transfer nip is prevented from getting proximate to a transfer roll to the utmost, an excellent recorded image free from image void is formed and the stiff recording sheet such as cardboard is entered into the transfer nip without being damaged. SOLUTION: This image forming device is equipped with an image carrier turning while carrying a toner image, a transfer roll arranged to be opposed to the image carrier so as to form the transfer nip and also transferring the toner image to the recording sheet inserted through the transfer nip, and a sheet supply path for guiding the recording sheet to the transfer nip. A posture regulating member for energizing the recording sheet to the image carrier side is provided at the end of the exit of the sheet supply path on the transfer roll side presupposing the image forming device where the sheet supply path is provided nearer to the transfer roll side than the tangent of the image carrier in the transfer nip.
