System for recording X-ray images has a radiation recording device and a controlling device. The radiation recording device has a charge layer (8) with a corresponding electrode layer (7) that has a high voltage (V) applied to it to generate electrons. Charge (electron) generation is dependent on the applied voltage which controls the electron multiplication effect in the charge layer. A recording device records the generated charge via an electron beam (e).
