<p>The publication discloses a method and system for controlling a remote device C with the aid of a terminal device B under the supervision of a central unit A. The invention is based on that the central unit, or central units are connected to remote devices and a local short-range data-transfer is connected between the terminal devices and remote devices when necessary. A request 201 is sent from the terminal device B to the remote device C. On the basis of the request, a query 202 is sent by the remote device C to the central unit A via the terminal device B. On the basis of the query, the central unit A checks the user rights of the terminal device B from a database and forms a command. The command is sent to the remote device C via the terminal device B. In preferred embodiments, the queries and commands are encrypted, so that the terminal device or the possessor of the terminal device cannot interpret or edit the queries and commands. The invention can be exploited in, for example, access control, surveillance, and anti-theft systems. In addition, the invention can be exploited for the transfer of data between so-called security bracelets and central units.</p> |
