The architecture has a core network and a radio access network in which an IP-based protocol is used for information exchange, whereby the components in the network have arrangements for sending and/or receiving information with multicast addresses and whereby the multicast groups produce a logical relationship between the components in the network. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method of exchanging information between components in a network architecture,components, (2) a radio access network, (3) components for a core network.
