<p>A control system (10) for a marine vessel having one or more engines (24a and 24b) and a transmission (22a and 22b) associated with the engine. The control system includes one or more control stations (16a and 16b), each having a control arm (102a and 102b) and arm position circuit coupled to the control arm for providing an electrical signal that represents a position of the control arm within its operating range. The system (10) includes one or more electronic control units (16a and 16b), each of which being electro-mechanically coupled to respective engine and transmission. A first electronic control unit (ECU) includes input circuit for receiving electrical signal, control circuits for controlling a throttle (24a) and (24b) of the first and the second engines and shift position of the transmission based upon a power train control signal.</p> |
