PURPOSE: A fuse element positioning body is provided to isolate a fuse element from an interior of a fuse body. CONSTITUTION: A fuse body(10) comprises the first end(12), the second end(24) and a bore(16) extending therethrough for receiving a fuse element assembly. The bore comprises a clearing portion having the first cross sectional area and a positioning portion having the second cross sectional area. The first cross sectional area is larger than the second cross sectional area.
