PURPOSE: A variable contact tripod constant velocity joint is provided to reduce the axial force generating in a drive shaft by inclining a trunnion of a spider in a specific angle. CONSTITUTION: A tripod constant velocity joint(1) has a tripod housing(3) having three track grooves formed axially at a specific interval. A spider(5) having three protruded trunnions(4) is inserted to the track grooves of the housing. A retainer(9) and a retainer ring(10) for preventing the displacement of an inner roller(7) are assembled to the outer upper portion of the trunnions. Herein, the trunnions are inclined in a specific angle, and various planar shapes and curved shapes are applied to both faces of the track recesses and the entire outer face or a partial section of an outer roller(8).
