STEROID HORMONE AND NON-STEROIDAL ANTI-INFLAMMATORY DRUG COMBINATIONS FOR INDUCING TUMOR CELL APOPTOSIS

A pharmaceutical composition is described, having at least one nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug at least one steroid hormone, a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, and optionally, one or more excipients, wheein the at least one nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug and the at least one steroid hormone are present in amounts sufficient to induce tumor cell apoptosis. Also described is a method of inducing apoptosis of cancer cells in which therapeutically effective amounts of at least one nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug and at least one steroid hormone are administered to a subject.The nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug and steroid hormone may administered prophylactically to a subject having non measurable tumor burden, or may be administered to a subject having a detectable tumor.
