<p>A magnesium base alloy wire which contains 0.1 to 12.0 mass % of Al and 0.1 to 1.0 mass % of Mn, has a diameter (d) of 0.1 mm to 10.0 mm, and a length (L) of 1000d or more, and exhibits a tensile strength of 250 MPa, a reduction of area of 15 % or more and an elongation at rupture of 6 % or more; and a method for producing the magnesium base alloy wire which comprises providing a raw material having the above composition, and drawing the raw material at a temperature of 50˚C or higher or drawing the raw material and then heating the resultant wire material to a temperature of 100 to 300˚C; and a spring using the magnesium base alloy wire. The magnesium base alloy wire is excellent in strength and also toughness.</p> |
