The invention relates to a capacitive sensor with which e.g., the electrodes are formed by panels of TCO material (2.1-2.4), deposited on a glass base (1). Suitable materials are ITO,Zno,SnOX. External connection are by track (4) and terminal pads (3) with a protective layer (5) of SnO2. The glass is first cleaned, a removable mask outlining the desired structure is placed in position and the components deposited by vacuum coating or sputtering, then the mask is removed.
