The flow power machine has its inflow on the equipotent surface below the fluid balanced mass state. The pump (P) supplies the fluid to an equipotent surface above the fluid balanced mass state. When the fluid is put back into the machine, more energy is released than is required by the pump drive. The surplus energy drives the shaft of the turbine (T).
