<p>A roll and press gas lighter is rendered child resistant by a protective strip (26, 35) which extends around the sparkwheel (15) and impedes the action of the user's thumb. The wheel assembly (13) is mounted for reciprocal motion and upwardly biased by the flint spring (19) and is depressed by the user during operation. The thumbwheel (16) may have a smooth periphery to increase the force required to rotate it.</p> |
