PURPOSE: A method is provided to recover precious metal by coagulation settling precious metal particulate simply and promptly from precious metal particulate dispersed solution into which particulate of precious metal including gold and/or silver is dispersed. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the processes of adding a compound having mercapto groups as coagulant to a precious metal particulate dispersed solution in which particulate including gold and/or silver is dispersed into solvent; coagulating the precious metal; and separating the coagulated precious metal particulate from the solvent, wherein the particulate including gold and/or silver is dispersed into the solvent by dispersing agent and/or surfactant, wherein the compound having mercapto groups has at least two or more mercapto groups in molecules, wherein inorganic salt as coagulation supporting agent is added to a precious metal particulate dispersed solution together with the compound having mercapto groups as coagulant, and wherein acid or alkali as coagulation supporting agent is added to a precious metal particulate dispersed solution together with the compound having mercapto groups as coagulant.
