PURPOSE: A playing method of a drum type input device and a recording medium including a program for executing the same are provided to enable a user to play or edit a music easily using a drum type musical execution device. CONSTITUTION: On condition that a drum executing/editing program is executed(S301), if a user selects a sound source setting mode for changing a sound source being output through each drum plate(S303), a process is performed in accordance with a sound source setting mode of the drum executing/editing program and a sound source selection menu capable of selecting various kinds of sound sources is displayed. If the user selects an executing mode(S307) and selects a music to be executed by searching a music file storage(S317), an execution screen is displayed and an execution process defined in the drum executing/editing program is performed(S319). Whenever the user hits each drum plate, a sound source set in each drum plate is output with an audio signal of the executed music through an audio processing unit and an audio output unit(S321). If an execution of the corresponding music is completed(S323), an accuracy of the execution is displayed as a score.
