PURPOSE: A universal joint shaft is provided to smoothly discharge air into a slip joint and to open only when the air is discharged for isolating the inflow of foreign substances. CONSTITUTION: A hollow external shaft is opened its both ends. An internal shaft is interlocked by inserting inside the external shaft and slid axially. A pair of yokes(110) is installed in both ends of the internal shaft and the external shaft. A universal joint shaft contains a vent hole(140) to be connected through the external shaft. A valve member(150) is installed in the vent hole to discharge internal air of external shaft to the outside by opening when external pressure of the external shaft is lower than internal pressure. Thereby, oil is easily injected into the external shaft without dismantling a slip joint. Moreover, the inflow of foreign substance and dust is isolated by connecting the inside of the external shaft with the outside only when the slip joint is shrunk.
