PURPOSE: A method of simultaneously driving a DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server and a BOOTP(Boot Trap Protocol) transfer agent is provided to copy a broadcast packet rising to an UDP(User Datagram Protocol), in order to simultaneously operate a DHCP server module and a BOOTP transfer agent module in a router, thereby using both the DHCP server module and the BOOTP transfer agent module. CONSTITUTION: When a router completes a broadcast packet copying preparation, the router performs a copying process(S410), and confirms whether the copying process is successful(S420). If not, the router informs a user of a copy failure, and deletes a received broadcast packet(S450). If the copying process is successful, the router transmits the original broadcast packet to a DHCP server module, and transmits the copied broadcast packet to the BOOTP transfer agent module(S430). The DHCP server module and the BOOTP transfer agent module process the received broadcast packets(S440).
