1,142,360. Folding paper. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG A.G. 29 Dec., 1966 [11 Jan., 1966], No. 58230/66. Heading B6H. A folding plate 1, for forming longitudinal folds in paper webs processed in rotary printing presses, carries a " nose " section 2 for bringing together the lateral edges of the web running over it. This nose may be detachable from plate 1 and is provided on its face turned towards the paper web with a central convexity 3 extending for 4/5 of the nose length above the plane surface 4 of the plate 1. The height of the convexity viewed in the direction of taper of he plate increases continuously from the end adjacent plate 1 to substantially the centre of the nose and then decreases again so that from point 5 to the tip (1/5 of the nose length) it extends below the surface 4. The radius of curvature of the convexity 3 in a plane at right angles to the direction of taper of the plate decreases continuously from the end adjacent the body portion to the lip of the nose portion. |
