PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a manufacturing method for printing sheets, or a thermal transfer printer in which printing sheets can be efficiently produced at a printing speed substantially equal to when a wax-based ink ribbon is used even when a resin-based ink ribbon superior in the thermal stability and the like is used by adding simple improvements without greatly changing the conventional thermal transfer printer mechanism while making use of the most of the mechanism as it is, and a thermal head is made superior in the durability. SOLUTION: There is provided the manufacturing method for the printing sheet (8). In the method, when a sheet (1) to be printed which is a rolled winding body (11) is rewound and transferred via a transfer roll (5), and ink information is applied via a thermal transfer printing mechanism (5, 6 and 7) to the rewinding part, at least either the rewinding part of the sheet or the ink ribbon for thermal transfer at the printing mechanism is preheated (3 and 4) at a process prior to the process of applying the ink information.
