PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protecting/catching apparatus which enables the capturing and rescuing of victims or protection and catching of birds and animals along with safety operations by accurately casting a net to be spread over the victims, birds, animals and other targets. SOLUTION: This apparatus has a bag-like spread net/having a projectile for releasing an opening at the tip thereof and a housing part 8 for housing the spread net 1. A shooting cylinder 7 is formed so as to have a mounting part of the housing part 8 at the tip part thereof, and moreover, such that the base end of a rope 6 mounted on the spread net 1 is fastened thereon and a tank 9 for storing compressed air is provided thereon to shoot the housing part 8.
