PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a structure of transfer equipment and to improve storage and retrieval speed of a load in an automated storage and retrieval warehouse with comb teeth shaped racks and fork type transfer equipment. SOLUTION: A transfer unit 50 is fixed to a chain 59 wound around a pair of sprockets 58. When the chain 59 goes around, an attaching part of the transfer unit 50 rotates around the sprockets 58 and moves upward. Accordingly, a load W can be transferred between a comb teeth type load mounting part 19 and the fork type transfer unit 50 just by normally rotating or reversing the chain 59 by one motor 61.
