PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tray for carrying a recording material in which the tray can be set easily at an accurate position of an ink jet recorder. SOLUTION: A label 2 is pasted to the surface of a tray 1 for carrying a recording material. An outline 21, a guide line 22 and an arrow 23 are indicated on the label 2. The Outline 21 indicates the outline of a carrying driven roller 54 and a carrying driven roller holder 541 typically in exact size and serves as a mark when the tray 1 is inserted into a sheet feed passage and set at a set position. The tray 1 can be set easily and accurately at a set position by inserting the tray 1 into the sheet feed passage and superposing the outline 21 on the carrying driven roller 54 and the carrying driven roller holder 541.
