DRIVE CONTROL METHOD FOR INK JET PRINT HEAD, INK JET PRINT HEAD, AND INK JET PRINTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet print head of such a system as ink is boiled by a heating resistor element generating heat as power is supplied and ink is ejected from an ejection opening utilizing growth/contraction of a bubble in which a smaller ink drop can be ejected efficiently without sacrifice of manufacturing cost of the print head incident to increase in the variation of resistance when means for making thin the film of heater is employed. SOLUTION: An arrangement for basically altering the setting of a pulse voltage in correspondence with the ejection threshold energy of a head is employed so that optimal driving power conditions can be designed smoothly for the variation range of resistance of each head caused by variation in the manufacture of the print head. A print head or a printer which can eject a smaller ink drop efficiently without lowering the manufacturing yield of the print head even if variation in the manufacture of the head is increased can thereby be provided.
